450 For The Fallen Fundraising

On Saturday May 24th, I am running in the "450 For the Fallen" relay in support of the Children of the Fallen Patriots Foundation which funds education expenses for the children of Service Members that have died while in the line of duty.

I was a Platoon Leader in Operation Iraqi Freedom. During my time in Iraq my company served in Baghdad, Fallujah, and Balad, Iraq. During my tour, my company lost three soldiers; Staff Sergeant Joseph Camara was one of those soldiers. He was killed by an IED on Main Supply Route Tampa on September 1st 2003. He left behind a loving wife and three young children.

Now that I am a father, I am reminded everyday how lucky I am to be with my kids and watch them grow up. When I think about my time in Iraq I frequently think about the soldiers we lost as well as Joe Camara's family and how they are doing. Then I think about the other service members who have lost their lives in Iraq and Afghanistan that left behind children.

The Children of the Fallen Patriots Foundation ultimate goal is to make college a reality for children of service members who have made the ultimate sacrifice.

On Saturday, May 24th 2014 I am participating in a ten mile leg of a 450 mile relay run that spans from Concord, MA to Washington, DC. The purpose of the relay run is to raise awareness and funding for the Children of the Fallen Patriots Foundation.

Staff Sergeant Camara made the ultimate sacrifice while serving his country and protecting our freedoms. Please consider making a small donation ($5, $10, $20 or any other amount) to not only help Joe's children but also the thousands of other children who have lost a parent in service to their country.

If you would like to join me or participate in another stage of the relay please visit http://www.450forthefallen.org/  for more information.

Thank You
