Luke

Luke loves to play outside, go to the park, and swim. He was diagnosed at 18 months of age with Autism and Apraxia of speech.

Autism is a neurodevelopmental disorder that impairs a child’s ability to communicate and interact with others. A child with apraxia of speech has difficulty or is unable to move his mouth and tongue to speak. This happens even if the child has the desire to speak and the mouth and tongue muscles are physically able.

Luke’s request is for assistance with the cost of PROMPT therapy. PROMPT stands for Prompts for Restructuring Oral Muscular Phonetic Targets. This therapy has been the only successful speech therapy for Luke and has taught him how to use his mouth for speech and communication.
