Eight year old Sylvia and her family love outdoor activities like hiking and camping. Due to sensory issues, they most enjoy low stimulation activities.
Sylvia was adopted here in Cincinnati. Her birth mother did not disclose that she drank while pregnant with her. Her birth mom finally disclosed the abuse and Children’s diagnosed her with Fetal Alcohol Syndrome at the age of 4 years.
Last year, her parents found a way to get her to the Stepping Stones summer camp and it was a very positive experience. It helped her feel more normal as she struggles socially. Sylvia has also been making great progress with Occupational and Speech Therapy and help with co-pays for those sessions is needed.
