Some people have asked why I do the Climb for Heroes every year. After all, I am "old", slow, have bad knees, a repaired Achilles, blah, blah, blah!!!

Because of them!!! LOOK at this photo below. I am at the far right talking to "Big Tim" Medvetz, founder of The Heroes Project. Beside us are Julian Torres (SGT, USMC, retired), Mark Zamon (SSG, USMC), Patrick Chammas, and Kionte Storey (CPL, USMC) with Koja. If these brave people can climb the some of the highest mountains in the world, I can certainly support them by climbing Mt. Baldy!

During my military service (1982-1989), I saw soldiers injured and wounded in the line of duty. Some survive and thrive, others fall thru the cracks and are forgotten. With The Heroes Project, I can do something to help my fellow Veterans and the disabled community.

This is my 9th year as the Captain of The Ascenders and I can't wait to hike Mt. Baldy on SATURDAY, Nov. 9, 2024!
