Helen Bode is a proud Burlington native, and a physician deeply passionate about loved ones and making a difference in people’s lives. She currently lives in Chapel Hill with her husband Paul and three young children. She attended UNC-Chapel Hill as a Morehead-Cain Scholar, graduating Phi Beta Kappa. She also earned my medical degree from UNC, with Alpha Omega Alpha honors, and a Master of Public Health degree.

Throughout her life, Helen has been personally touched by cancer and challenging medical/life events involving loved ones—losing her paternal grandmother to breast cancer, and her oldest brother Jimmy to a brain tumor. In May 2021, Helen was midway through her dermatology residency when life took an unexpected turn - her mom (and best friend) suffered a ruptured brain aneurysm.

Inspired by the unwavering encouragement of her parents, “Dee and Doc,” to pursue her dreams and passion, Helen founded DeeTox Skin & Laser in 2022, a boutique skincare practice in Burlington and Chapel Hill, NC.
