Many of y’all know I work with the Health Alliance for Austin Musicians (HAAM). I love this work because every day I get to help musicians and their families access the health care they need and deserve.

Sometimes that means sitting down with someone to untangle confusing insurance jargon. Other times it’s helping a parent find care for their child, connecting someone with therapy or substance use treatment, or simply making sure a musician knows they’re not alone when navigating our healthcare system.

I also get to collaborate with incredible community partners who share the same mission: breaking down barriers so that artists can focus on their music and their lives, knowing their health is supported.

I believe health care is a human right. Supporting HAAM means supporting the people who make Austin’s arts community thrive — even in the face of budget cuts and uncertainty.
