2015 Anda Veterans Day Golf Tournament

“Anda Veterans Day Golf Tournament” Raises Over $12,000 for Wounded Warrior Project

November 18th ,2015 – The 2nd annual “Anda Veterans Day Golf Tournament” benefiting Wounded Warrior Project® (WWP)  was held on Wednesday, November 11th, 2015, at the Davie Golf and Country Club. The event raised just over $12,000 for WWP whose mission is to honor and empower Wounded Warriors. Donations were made at the tournament by participating golfers, sponsors and silent auction donors. The donations will help support over 20 life-saving programs and services that impact more than 80,000 injured service members and over 14,000 caregivers and family support members. These programs and services, which are provided at no cost, are uniquely structured to engage warriors, nurture their minds and bodies, and encourage economic empowerment. Through a high-touch and interactive approach, WWP’s vision is to foster the most successful, well-adjusted generation of wounded service members in our nation’s history.

110 individuals participated in the tournament on a sunny day in South Florida. The tournament was preceded by a Veterans Day ceremony featuring the Joint Service Color Guard from U.S. Southern Command, and the National Anthem sung by Julie Massey, a performing arts student at Broward Community College. Veterans Day commemorations were made by Congressional Representative Debbie Wasserman-Schultz, and Susan Starkey, Vice Mayor of the Town of Davie. Many of the players in the tournament were local veterans, including alumni of WWP programs, and active servicemen in the U.S. military

The tournament was sponsored by Anda, Inc., a Weston-based distributor of generic, brand and specialty pharmaceutical products, as well as by Allergan, a global pharmaceutical company with operations in Davie, Sunrise and Weston, FL. Presenting sponsor was Baptist Health South Florida. Media sponsors were the iHeart radio stations.

This event was organized by Davie Golf & Country Club, which was solely responsible for its fulfillment. The “Wounded Warrior Project” name was used with permission.
