The 4th annual Warriors Rock'n the Bay (WRTB) is an annual Wounded Warrior Project proud supporter event that was founded by and is primarily comprised of men of women who love the outdoors and reside in the Washington, D.C. and Baltimore, MD areas. We seek to bring our wounded combat veterans and veterans of foreign wars together every year for a day of fishing, friendship, healing, and relaxation on the Chesapeake Bay. Individual donations and business sponsors directly pay for each veteran's spot on our fishing vessels and any of their needs during the 5-hour Rock-fishing charter event. Any monetary funds and donations raised over the costs of the event are all donated to local Wounded Warrior groups through Maryland VFW's and to the Wounded Warrior Project. All veteran spots on our charter fishing vessels are free of charge and include: license, rod/reel, bait, non-alcoholic beverages, t-shirt, free gear, breakfast & lunch and a prize for the largest fish.
Wounded Warriors wishing to attend must simply contact the event coordinator to register as spots are limited!
The 2016 WRTB event will take place on Wednesday July 13th 2016 in Rock Hall, MD. Boarding starts at 0600 hours at the east-side docks of Waterman's Crab House, 21055 W Sharp St, Rock Hall, MD 21661. We are planning to reserve 4 boats which should hold a total of 43 combined veterans and volunteers. We are currently seeking 39 combined Wounded Warriors and Veterans of Foreign Wars to attend. Due to the limited size of our event, we ask that caregiver attendance be limited if possible. That said, veterans requiring physical assistance should not be discouraged from attending. Our docks are extremely handicap friendly and accommodating mobility needs has never been a concern. Please arrive 30-45 minutes early for breakfast and sign-in. Veterans should bring sunscreen and coolers for fish.
Wounded Warriors and Veterans of Foreign Wars wishing to participate should contact the event coordinator, Matthew Kline, to reserve a spot as soon as possible. Please feel free to visit our Facebook page and website http://www.warriorsrocknthebay.org/, which is currently being updated and redesigned. Tight Lines!
