Six year old Savannah is a happy-go-lucky child with a heart of gold. She loves to learn even though it is difficult for her. She also likes to participate in activities outside of school. Swim is her all-time favorite but she enjoys soccer and gymnastics as well. Savannah adores her little sister and loves spending time with her family playing games, riding bikes, playing tag, and jumping on the trampoline.
Savannah has apraxia of speech which makes her non-verbal. She is also diagnosed with a global developmental delay which makes her struggle with fine and gross motor skills. Savannah has also been recently diagnosed with polymicrogyria, a condition characterized by abnormal development of the brain before birth. She is significantly behind academically and she needs extensive speech therapy as well as occupational and physical therapy.
Savannah’s insurance coverage will only pay for 60 total combined therapy visits and she needs all three of those therapies on a regular basis.
