Five year old Landon loves to play with his older brother and sister and likes being the youngest. He loves anything Minecraft, Mario, and Lego. He is a homebody mostly because he doesn’t feel good most of the time and he definitely likes things quiet and calm. He has recently been prescribed new braces for his feet which help him race around the house, at least until he wears himself out. As most boys do, Landon likes anything super hero related and he wants all of us to know that even though he is afraid of heights, he loved flying on a plane the first time when he had to go to a doctor visit.
Landon was born healthy but quickly began having a hard time feeding and lost weight quickly. He vomited a lot and cried almost all day for the 1st year of his life. He was thought to have had acid reflux and was given many medications to help. Unfortunately, none of them helped. He continued to deal with Failure to Thrive and then he went through a period where he had seizures. He has had extreme difficulty going to the bathroom since he was 4 months old and he still doesn’t sleep through the night. He has had extreme leg and joint pain since he was 2 years old that has now been diagnosed as Ehlers Danlos Syndrome. He also was finally diagnosed at the age of 4 with eosinophilic esophagitis and colitis, which explains his weight, stomach, and bowel problems.
Landon has been to several Children’s Hospitals trying to get answers and finally got them here in Cincinnati. Due to the three chronic, rare, lifelong diseases, Landon needs to travel to Cincinnati at least 3 - 4 times per year to see specialists here.
