IT TAKES A TEAM!!! In 2 days, The Ascenders will hike Mt. Baldy!!! The purpose of our hike is to raise funds and awareness for the plight of wounded Veterans and the Disabled Community. I consider it a blessing to find friends who are as passionate about this cause to join me. It is also a blessing that so many of you contributed your financial support.

The 2022 Ascenders are: Myself, Tiffani Bruno, Isabelle Galan, Nick Henning, Marsh Jackson, and Georgette Rieck. Every of them hiked with me last year. I am always grateful for their fundraising efforts and I am honored to be hiking with each of them.

I hope you will consider supporting us through a donation or becoming a part of our team. Since 2015, The Ascenders, its various members, and our generous supporters, have raised more than $30,000 during the annual Climb for Heroes event. Our team is comprised of Veterans, Sierra Club Wilderness Travel Course members, Adventure 16 alumni, and of course, dear Friends and Family (plus our pets. too).

The Ascenders are united in our goal of supporting The Heroes Project (THP) and its programs for Veterans and the disabled community. THP is continuing its training expeditions for disabled Veterans and is currently building its Veterans training and therapy center in the mountains above Los Angeles.

I am SGT Peter Gaspar (US Army, ret.). During my service (1982-1989), I saw soldiers injured and wounded in the line of duty. Some survive and thrive, others fall thru the cracks, forgotten. With THP, WE can do something to help my fellow Veterans and the disabled community.

This is my 7th year as Captain of The Ascenders and we are ready to hike! I hope that you will again support our efforts to raise $10,000 with my Team by HIKING and/or FUNDRAISING with us. Or you can also help us by making a secure online DONATION here, or print a donor form and mail it with a check to The Heroes Project. ANY kind amount will be greatly appreciated!
