Join us on Saturday, April 25, from 12:30pm to 3:30pm on Barrie School's campus to celebrate the opening of our new trail, and support our homeless neighbors in a Walkathon.

Aside from the Walkathon, we will have various activities such as face painting, water balloon fights, live music, shirt making, pie in the face, food trucks, refreshments, and more!

Background: 

As part of our 8th Grade Humanities Course, our class began investigating the United Nation's Universal Declaration of Human Rights. We were asked to choose one to focus on and to plan a community event to highlight it. We chose Article 25, the Right to Housing. 

We have chosen to partner with Everyone Home DC. Funds raised will be put to work right away in support of Everyone Home DC’s front-door Single Adult programs, including outreach to people living outside and our drop-in hospitality center. Our goal is to raise $500, which can support the purchase of water and other essential supplies for neighbors experiencing homelessness during the extreme heat of summer.
