Pink with Purpose

Thank you for visiting my team fundraiser page!

In September 2024, during year two of my breast cancer journey, my family and I were chosen for a free week long Little Pink Houses of Hope retreat in Lake Tahoe, California.

It was there that the healing truly began.

Little Pink Houses of Hope offers free retreats for breast cancer patients & their families where they receive much-needed respite from schedules dictated by medical appointments & the heavy burden of fear, anxiety, and healthcare bills.

For one week, I was surrounded by other women, fighting breast cancer, who understood this weight on a personal level. They knew the weight of the diagnosis, the endless appointments, the bone-deep fatigue, the body dysmorphia, and the quiet fear that hums in the background of everything. We were all climbing the same mountain, just on different parts of the trail.

At the same time, my family was able to find their own circle of understanding. My son, my spouse, and my mother spent time with other family members who understood the worry, the helplessness, and the constant emotional load that comes with loving someone through cancer.

But it wasn’t just cancer and commiseration. We shared incredible meals and laughter. We kayaked, biked, shopped, talked, and truly got to know one another. We held each other’s burdens, worries, and triumphs. We celebrated wins big and small. We embraced all of it, together. It was unguarded healing, genuine hope, and quiet rebuilding that reminded us who we were beyond the diagnosis.

It’s important to know that we were only able to be there & experience this gift because of the kindness and generosity of others.

Our plane tickets and rental car were covered through monetary donations from friends and family. The home we stayed in, tucked into the quiet forest of Lake Tahoe, was donated. Every meal, every excursion, every experience...donated.

Because of this generosity, everything was taken care of & we were able to finally stop holding it all together. For one full week, we were able to lay it all down...the fear, the anxiety, the constant balancing act of cancer and real life. We simply existed with people who truly understood. People we now get to call our friends.

The retreat didn’t erase cancer, but it gave us back parts of ourselves that cancer so often steals. We left feeling connected instead of consumed. It gave us the space to simply breathe again and reminded us that there is still so much life outside of cancer.

Now, I want to be that spark that lights the fire for someone else’s healing.

From March 1–15, I’ll be an ambassador for Little Pink Houses of Hope, wearing a bright pink wig as part of their annual Wigging Out fundraiser. My goal is to raise $1,500 to help send another woman, another warrior, another family on a free, week-long Little Pink Houses of Hope retreat in 2026. To give them the chance to step out of survival mode and into community with others climbing the same mountain.

If this speaks to your heart, I’d be so grateful if you would consider:
• Joining my team - Pink with Purpose - & joining my efforts
• Donating, if you’re able
• Or sharing my fundraising page to help spread the word

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for standing with me, for standing with them & for helping me pass this gift forward.
