25 Years of CEJA, 10 Years of Congreso!
2026 is a year full of celebration for us at the California Environmental Justice Alliance (CEJA). Not only are we celebrating our 25th anniversary, but this year is also our 10th Congreso event!
What is Congreso?
CEJA brings 250+ of our Alliance’s grassroots members from across the state to Sacramento to learn about key environmental legislation, build community, and meet with decision-makers in the state Capitol. The power-building event includes policy trainings, cultural celebrations, and the Environmental Justice (EJ) Awards, which uplift leaders who have made an impact in the social justice space.
All expenses are paid for community members to reduce as many barriers for participation as possible!
What is this Fundraiser For?
Some of the 2026 Congreso attendees are helping to pay it forward by fundraising to support future Congreso attendees and support their host organization's ongoing community work. Each of CEJA's 10 member and partner organizations has a team, and half of the amount raised by each team will be given to the member or partner organization.
For example, if you donate $50 to Team APEN, $25 will go to CEJA to support future Congreso attendees, and $25 will go to APEN to support their work in the community.
