In 2018, I joined the United States Digital Service and began a two year tour of duty where I served as the Deputy Executive Director for the Digital Service @ Veterans Affairs.

With a Service Dog In Training at the VA

At DSVA, we had a singular goal - to help Veterans to access the benefits and services that they earned and deserved. We did so by modernizing the digital services available to them, including relaunching the VA.gov website to truly put Veterans first and help them navigate through the bureaucracy. It was by far the most impactful job I have ever held, as even the slightest improvements that we were able to make in Veterans' digital experiences resulted in greater access to benefits and programs.

This year, I am joining Climb For Heroes in celebration of their 10th anniversary and to raise money in their efforts to directly change the lives of Veterans. This year, all funds raised will be used to build California's first and only veterans retreat center at Mt. Baldy. I'd appreciate any donations to this cause, or you may also join the climb yourself under the Temporary Smokescreen team!
