Paddle Across Stamford and we'll bring you back! We love the Sound and we're paddling together in one large, colorful Flotilla for four miles from Cove Island Park in Stamford and the beaches in Darien to Stamford Harbor (theroute). We'll start at 8:30 sharp with a cannon fire launch and finish at Boccuzzi Park with a celebration of food, drinks and camaraderie. The Flotilla is not a difficult paddle. We launch early to take advantage of calm waters and winds and have a favoring tide as we enter Stamford Harbor. Paddlers typically finish between 9:45 - 10:30am. Then, we'll bring you and your kayak/board back to your starting point. It couldn't be easier.
The Flotilla is fun, but it's also important. We benefit from a healthy Sound in so many ways - beauty, inspiration, food, jobs, and recreation to name a few - and if we don't take care of it today, we'll lose those benefits tomorrow. The money we raise in the Flotilla will support the education, research and stewardship that keeps the Sound healthy. Are you in?
Paddle with friends. Paddle with family. Paddle with co-workers. Just paddle!
This is where the paddle hits the water. Protecting the Sound takes money and the Flotilla is an easy way to help raise it. Here's what you do:
And they will support you if you show you care. You're giving them the opportunity to help too.
*** Important: Everyone who registers for the Flotilla is committing to raising at least $150 and we have great fundraising awards when you raise even more. Here are some simple fundraising tips and tools.
